The studio rose-engine has announced the horror game Signalis in anime pixel art style. The game will be released on PC, but the release date has not yet been announced. Rose-engine is also interested in releasing Signalis on consoles, but at this stage of development, it is focused solely on one platform.
In Signalis, you will uncover a dark secret, solve puzzles, fight nightmarish creatures, and travel through dystopian surreal worlds as Elster, a replica seeking her lost memories.
After her ship crashes on a remote snowy planet, the replica Elster searches for a missing crew member. In her quest, she wanders through the ruins of what appears to be an abandoned underground labor camp. There, she experiences surreal visions of cosmic horror and memories of a past that does not belong to her.
The heroine is forced to delve deeper into the camp to learn what happened to her and why. But mysterious coded radio signals and a replica with hostile intentions are not the only obstacles she will face along the way.
As rose-engine indicates, when creating Signalis, the studio is inspired by classic Silent Hill and Resident Evil. The gameplay of the project pays homage to the 'golden age of horror.'
