A new version of Qt 3D Studio has been released — an editor for creating three-dimensional interfaces and interactive presentations from the Qt framework kit.
One of the main innovations is a radical increase in the performance of the runtime component on desktop graphics cards compared to the previous version — 565%, according to the developers' own measurements. This performance boost is attributed to a return to using OpenGL and a discontinuation of the transition to a proprietary Qt 3D component that was starting in version 2.x. There is also a new capability for dynamically creating and adding objects to the scene and support for transforming custom materials using vertex shaders.
