Jeremy Soller (engineer at system76) announced that he is starting work on porting coreboot (LinuxBIOS) for modern AMD Ryzen systems (Matisse and Renoir series), with the support of Lisa Su (AMD CEO). The project represents a free alternative to proprietary and closed BIOS and UEFI systems.
