RDPClient has been released for the KolibriOS operating system, which is written in assembly. The cross-compilation toolkit used was Kos-32 based on GCC-5.4.0. To implement an encrypted channel, a statically linked BearSSL library was employed. Given the limitations of KolibriOS and its toolset, development was done in C with direct system call invocation. An AI assistant, Claude, was used during the development.
Implemented features include dynamic window resizing, sound playback from the remote desktop, support for 15/16/24/32-bit color depths, EGFX modes, and bidirectional clipboard. Unimplemented features include additional clipboards besides text, disk passthrough, H264 codec, and device passthrough. One potential use case is the implementation of a thin client similar to RDPKiosk, but on KolibriOS.
