Implementation of GOST cryptographic algorithms in the Java language.

The crypto-gost library has been published with an implementation of GOST cryptographic algorithms in Java, which does not use any additional dependencies. Unlike the GOST algorithm implementations from the Bouncy Castle library, crypto-gost improves the encryption performance of the 'Grasshopper' algorithm, addresses specific security issues, and provides simple wrappers that do not require deep knowledge of cryptography. The code is provided under its own permissive license, allowing distribution, modification, and creation of derivative works without restrictions.

Supported Algorithms:

  • GOST R 34.11-2012 (RFC 6986) — the 'Streebog' hash function 256 and 512 bits.
  • GOST R 34.12-2015 — the 'Grasshopper' block cipher, 256-bit key.
  • GOST R 34.13-2015 — encryption modes CBC, CFB, CTR (GAMMA), OFB; message authentication code (CMAC).
  • GOST R 34.10-2012 (RFC 7091) — 256 and 512-bit digital signature.
  • HMAC-Streebog (RFC 7836, HMAC-Streebog-256 and HMAC-Streebog-512).
  • MGM (Multilinear Galois Mode) — AEAD mode for Grasshopper (RFC 9058). Compatible with OpenSSL.
  • SCrypt (RFC 7914) — password-based key derivation function.
