David Bryant has released another version of the audio codec WavPack 5.7.0. New features include the long-awaited implementation of multithreaded encoding/decoding (optionally with the key —threads), support for importing ID3v2 tags, and the migration of binary file builds for Windows OS to MSVC.
List of major changes:
- Support for multithreaded encoding, decoding, and ReplayGain data calculation has been added.
- Support for importing ID3v2.4 tags has been added.
- The ability to explicitly specify the bitrate (optionally) has been added.
- Support added BW64 as input.
- Windows OS builds have been migrated to MSVC with native multithreading support.
- Fixed searching in very large files (only for Windows OS).
- Improved support for the AIFF format as input.
- Optimized processing of 32-bit integer files (with the key —optimize-int32).
