Release of CrossOver 22.1 for Linux, Chrome OS, and macOS

CodeWeavers has released CrossOver 22.1, based on Wine code and designed to run Windows applications and games. CodeWeavers is a key participant in the Wine project, sponsoring its development and contributing all innovations implemented for its commercial products back to the project. In the new version:

  • The vkd3d package, which implements Direct3D 12 through a call translation to the Vulkan graphics API, has been updated to version 1.5.
  • Support for the WineD3D library implementing DirectX 1-11 based on OpenGL has been improved, with over 400 changes migrated from Wine to WineD3D.
  • Compatibility issues with the Ubisoft Connect update have been resolved.
  • Crashes of Adobe Acrobat Reader 11 when launched on Linux have been fixed.
  • Dependency issues when using Fedora 37 and OpenSUSE Tumbleweed have been addressed.
  • The SDL library version has been updated.
  • Improved support for gaming controllers, including support for the Xbox Elite Series 2.
  • The macOS build has enabled support for 32-bit DirectX 10/11 games; players can now enjoy Command and Conquer Remastered Collection, Total War ROME II — Emperor Edition, BioShock Infinite, and Magicka 2. Issues with blank windows and crashes in GTA Online have been resolved.
