Red Hat has released the distribution Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.5. Installation packages are prepared for the x86_64, s390x (IBM System z), ppc64le, and Aarch64 architectures, but are only available for download to registered users of the Red Hat Customer Portal. The source code for the rpm packages of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 is distributed through the CentOS Git repository. The 8.x branch will be supported at least until 2029 and is developed according to a release cycle that involves new releases every six months at predetermined times.
