The release of the compact Live distribution Slax 15 has been announced, notable for returning to the use of developments from the Slackware project. The last Slax release based on Slackware was made 9 years ago. In 2018, the distribution was migrated to the Debian package base, using the APT package manager and the systemd initialization system. The graphical environment is built on the FluxBox window manager and the xLunch program launch desktop/interface, specially developed for Slax by project participants. The boot image occupies 250 MB (x86_64).
At the same time, a corrective release of the Debian-based branch — Slax 11.4 has been prepared, which includes package updates proposed in Debian 11.4. Builds of the Slax 11.x branch are prepared for x86_64 and i386 architectures.
