An update for fidoip 2.0.5 has been released - a suite of programs for working in the Fidonet network. The suite includes a set of the latest versions of classic FIDOnet programs (only open source software): a mailer for receiving mail over the Internet, a tosser for processing messages, and a message editor.
A brief overview of the main changes in this version:
Improved loading of nodelist and pointlist updates, the suite uses more than 10 mirrors. If Internet access is limited, the suite can load updates using the traditional Fidonet channel - file conferences;
Improved traffic statistics output for file conferences transmitting large audio and video files. Depending on the volume of data transmitted through echoes, the traffic statistics in reports are displayed in kilobytes, megabytes, and gigabytes, rather than bytes as previously;
New export and import utilities allow exporting and importing the configuration of a node or point when updating the versions of the suite, as well as easily moving the fidoip installation to another directory/on another computer;
The fidoip suite is easy to configure. Using it, you can easily connect to Fidonet (first, you need to contact the network system operators, a list of which is provided in the documentation), as well as quickly set up your FIDOnet node.
