Krzysztof Krystian Jankowski has released another version of the Floppinux distribution, version 0.2.1. The distribution is based on kernel 5.13.0-rc2+ and BusyBox 1.33.1. It uses syslinux as the bootloader. A processor of at least a 486 DX with a minimum of 24 megabytes of RAM is required for the distribution to function.
As the name suggests, the distribution fits entirely on a 3.5" double density floppy disk with a total free space of 1.44 MB. The total file size on the magnetic disk is 1 MB, leaving about 400 KB of free space for user applications. Upon startup, it checks for the presence of the executable file at /home/main, and if available, control is transferred to it, allowing the distribution to be used in "kiosk" mode. Executable elf files for the i386 architecture are supported and shebang-scripts.
