In the new version:
- The codebase has been moved to the stable branch FreeBSD 12.0-STABLE with the latest system updates from the TrueOS project (previously using the experimental branch FreeBSD 13.0-CURRENT);
- The OpenRC initialization system has been updated to release 0.41.2;
- Packages with core system components have been utilized, by the TrueOS project;
- CPU load has been reduced when using NetworkMgr;
- Unnecessary applications have been removed from the base distribution. The boot image has been reduced by 200 MB;
- Rhythmbox has replaced Exaile as the music player;
- VLC has replaced GNOME MPV as the video player;
- The CD/DVD burning program Brasero has replaced XFburn;
- Tiny Vim has been added instead of Vim;
- A new login display manager theme with Slick Greeter has been implemented;
- AMD GPU and radeonkms drivers have been added to xconfig settings;
- The Vimix theme has been updated, improving MATE and XFCE.
