nxs-data-anonymizer 1.11.0 has been released — a tool for anonymizing database dumps from PostgreSQL and MySQL/MariaDB/Percona. The tool is written in Go and is released under the Apache License 2.0.
The tool can be used via unnamed pipes in the command line to redirect a dump from the source database directly to the target database with the necessary transformations. Depending on the type of entities in the security settings, the tool anonymizes columns for tables with rules described in the filters section. If the table has no rules, the data will still be protected as the anonymizer will not include it in the resulting dump. It is possible to link the anonymization of database entities in different tables according to various rules and work with one-time generated data using global variables.
In the new version:
- New variables 'Raw column data type' and 'Regex's capturing groups' have been added to the filters, allowing the use of regular expressions with capturing groups for various data types in columns.
- The generation of values for typed data has been implemented. Now, when the column security policy is set to randomize cell values, these values are automatically generated according to their data types. Previously, all types were handled the same; with this update, classification has been added (for example, for MySQL columns with date and datetime types).
