The release of MiniOS 4.0.0 is now available, a lightweight modular live distribution of Linux designed for use on removable USB drives. A key feature of MiniOS is its modular architecture, allowing for the creation of specialized configurations by excluding unnecessary components and adding those needed to adapt the system for specific tasks. It is based on the Debian 12 package base. The default graphical environment is based on Xfce.
Among the changes in the fourth version of MiniOS:
- Only two editions are available for download instead of six: MiniOS Standard (i386, amd64, 656 MB) and Toolbox (amd64, 838 MB).
- The new Toolbox edition is a multifunctional tool for system administrators, offering a wide range of utilities for PC maintenance and data recovery.
- The Standard edition (for amd64) now includes additional drivers for wireless adapters and drivers for modern Intel sound cards.
- The visual design has been significantly revamped and improved.
- All MiniOS tools for system customization and module creation have been enhanced.
- Numerous changes aimed at improving user convenience.
