Performance test results for the latest Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 7 9700X, and Ryzen 5 9600X processors based on the Zen 5 architecture have emerged online from the Cinebench R23 benchmark. The Tom’s Hardware portal compared them with the results of their direct predecessors — Ryzen 9 7900X, Ryzen 7 7700X, and Ryzen 5 7600X.

The Ryzen 9 9900X is a 12-core processor operating at a frequency range of 4.4 to 5.6 GHz, the Ryzen 7 9700X has 8 cores with a base frequency of 3.80 GHz and a maximum frequency of 5.5 GHz, while the Ryzen 5 9600X is a 6-core processor with a base frequency of 3.90 GHz, capable of automatically boosting up to 5.4 GHz.

According to available data, the Ryzen 9 9900X is 8.9% faster in single-threaded performance than the Ryzen 9 7900X and is also 8.9% faster in multi-threaded performance, which aligns with what AMD itself has stated. The 8-core Ryzen 7 9700X outperformed the Ryzen 7 7700X by 11.5% in single-threaded performance, but was only 6.8% faster in multi-threaded performance. As for the entry-level Ryzen 5 9600X, it surpassed the Ryzen 5 7600X by 12.6% in single-thread and by 10.7% in multi-threaded performance.

Test results indicate that the model with fewer cores, the Ryzen 5 9600X, achieved a more significant performance boost relative to its predecessor than the higher-end Ryzen 9 9900X.
Earlier , which the most likely reason for the delay in the release of the Ryzen 9000 processors was a typo in their naming that occurred during the chip labeling process.
