Samyang, which also sells its products under the Rokinon brand, has released updated versions of its two best-selling lenses: and .
The updated manual focus lenses share the same optical elements and specifications as their predecessors (14 elements in 10 groups for the 14 mm model and 9 elements in 7 groups for the 85 mm), but introduce new features designed to provide smoother and more reliable operation.
In particular, both lenses now offer weather resistance, an updated focusing ring for better grip, and a switch for smoothly adjusting the aperture level instead of fixed values. The 14 mm f/2.8 MK2 lens also features a new focus lock switch that ensures settings remain intact and do not shift during use.
Both lenses are available in versions for cameras with Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony E, Fujifilm X, Canon M, and MFT mounts. The new MF 14 mm f/2.8 MK2 and MF 85 mm f/1.4 MK2 models will begin retail availability in early June, with recommended prices ranging from £359 to £439 ($438–$535), depending on the model and mount.
