The release of the free cross-platform interpreter for classic quests ScummVM 2026.4.0 has taken place, replacing executable files for games and allowing many classic games to run on platforms for which they were not originally intended. The project's code is distributed under the GPLv3+ license.
A total of over 500 quests can be launched, including games from companies like LucasArts, Humongous Entertainment, Revolution Software, Cyan, and Sierra, such as Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island, Broken Sword, Myst, Blade Runner, King’s Quest 1-7, Space Quest 1-6, Discworld, Simon the Sorcerer, Beneath A Steel Sky, Lure of the Temptress, and The Legend of Kyrandia. Games can run on platforms such as Linux, Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, PS Vita, Switch, Dreamcast, AmigaOS, Atari/FreeMiNT, RISC OS, Haiku, PSP, PS3, Maemo, GCW Zero, and more.
