September 4 saw the release of SeaMonkey 2.49.5.
SeaMonkey is a suite of integrated internet applications, including a browser, email client, RSS/Atom aggregator, and WYSIWYG HTML editor. The release 2.49.5 is synchronized with the code base of Firefox 52.9.0 ESR and Thunderbird 52.9.1 ESR (see the corresponding release notes via the links).
Features:
- From the code base Mozilla Firefox security-related fixes (up to ESR version 60.2) were ported, along with some enhancements.
- In addition to general fixes from the platform code Mozilla and the email client core, this release includes a fix for the EFAIL vulnerability (1, 2), ported from the code base of the Mozilla Thunderbird.
