Last night (around midnight European time) a fire broke out at the OVH data center in Strasbourg, destroying most of the equipment (the SBG2 data center was completely burned down, 4 out of 12 rooms in the SBG1 data center were destroyed, and the SBG3 and SBG4 data centers were de-energized). Fire and rescue services cut off power to all buildings, and it wasn’t until morning that the fire was brought under control. No injuries were reported. The prefecture and police established a security perimeter around the buildings, restricting staff access as well. This incident has already affected many OVH customers, as it turned out that numerous backups were stored in the same data center.
