The German state of Schleswig-Holstein has decided to migrate 30,000 computers of local authorities from Windows and Microsoft Office to Linux and LibreOffice, according to a blog post by the Document Foundation, the organization overseeing LibreOffice development.
The decision by the state of Schleswig-Holstein was made after the European Data Protection Supervisor concluded that the European Commission's use of Microsoft 365 violates data protection laws.
