The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation and the payment system "Mir" have entered into a cooperation agreement. This was announced during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2019.
The agreement aims to enhance the effective and profitable use of national payment service tools. In particular, the parties intend to promote cashless payments.
This primarily concerns government portals. Thus, the first step in the project's implementation will be the cancellation of the bank commission for paying fines for traffic violations on the public services portal using "Mir" cards. Currently, the commission is 0.7%.
Furthermore, the payment system "Mir" has signed a cooperation agreement with "VimpelCom" (the Beeline brand). This contract provides for the development of innovative payment services based on predictive data processing technology and artificial intelligence. It is expected that the results of the collaboration will enable the creation of personalized payment offers for "Mir" cardholders.
"Today, the personalization of customer offers is an important trend. I am confident that cooperation with Beeline will allow us to expand this business direction and create products that are maximally relevant to the end user — the holder of the "Mir" card," say representatives of the payment system.
