The development of the Slackware 15.0 distribution has moved into the beta testing stage. Slackware has been evolving since 1993 and is the oldest existing distribution. Its features include a lack of complexity and a simple initialization system reminiscent of classic BSD systems, making Slackware an interesting solution for learning about Unix-like systems, conducting experiments, and familiarizing oneself with Linux. An installation image has been prepared for download, with a size of 3.1 GB (x86_64), as well as a minimal build for running in Live mode.
The main differences in Slackware 15 revolve around updates to software versions, including the transition to Linux kernel 5.10, GCC 10.3 compilers, and Glibc 2.33 system library.
