RadeonOpenCompute is a free set of drivers, libraries, and utilities for implementing OpenCL and machine learning technologies for platforms based on AMD graphics cards. It is developed by AMD.
The package includes the rock-dkms kernel module, HCC and HIP compilers, and the rocm-clang-ocl version, along with libraries for OpenCL support, libraries, and examples for implementing basic machine learning algorithms.
In the new release:
- Support for new graphics cards based on Vega20 7nm.
- Support for Ubuntu 20.04/18.04, RHEL/Centos 7.8 and 8.2, SLES15.
- A new hipfort library for supporting accelerated computations on graphics cards for the Fortran language.
- ROCm Data Center Tool — a new utility for monitoring graphics cards and tasks running on them.
- It is now possible to statically link ROCm libraries in applications.
- Graphics cards GFX9 (Radeon Vega 56/64, Radeon VII) no longer require PCIe Atomics support, meaning they can work on a wider range of processors and motherboards.
- Graphics cards GFX9 can operate through the Thunderbolt interface.
Attention! Upgrading from previous versions is not supported! You must completely uninstall previous versions of ROCm before installing ROCm 3.8.0!
