On June 22, the anniversary version 0.20.2 of the popular free planetarium Stellarium was released, visualizing the realistic night sky as if you were viewing it with the naked eye, or through binoculars or a telescope.
The significance of this release lies in the age of the project — 20 years ago Fabien Chéreau (Fabien Chéreau) pondered the question of loading a new discrete graphics card.
In total, between versions 0.20.1 and 0.20.2, 135 changes were made, among which the following can be highlighted (key changes):
- Numerous changes in the core of the planetarium and the 'Astronomical Calculations' tool.
- Many changes in the scripting engine and Script Console.
- Many changes in the 'Eyepieces' and 'Satellites' plugins.
- Update of the deep space object catalog (v3.10).
