Affected systems often display an error from the system event notification service when attempting to log in. The message states that the system could not find the specified procedure, which prevents logging in. There are also reports of complete internet connection loss due to DHCP errors and installation failures with error codes 0x800f0983 and 0x800f0991. Some users found that running the system file checker tool as an administrator (sfc /scannow) helped.
Some users managed to resolve the issue by uninstalling the update; however, Windows 11 may automatically reinstall it. A temporary pause in updates does not resolve the issue, as it is not possible to indefinitely delay the installation of the update. Users are awaiting a comprehensive solution from Microsoft.
