System76 has announced the Adder WS portable computer, designed for content creators, researchers, and gaming enthusiasts.
The mobile workstation is equipped with a 15.6-inch 4K OLED display with a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels. Graphics processing is handled by the discrete NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 accelerator.
The maximum configuration features an Intel Core i9-9980HK processor, which includes eight computing cores capable of simultaneous processing of up to sixteen instruction threads. The clock speed ranges from 2.4 GHz to 5.0 GHz.
The laptop supports up to 64 GB of DDR4-2666 RAM, a Gigabit Ethernet controller, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5 wireless adapters, an SD card reader, a USB 3.1 Gen 2 / Thunderbolt 3 (Type-C) interface, three USB 3.0 ports, and more.
The storage subsystem can combine two M.2 (SATA or PCIe NVMe) solid-state drives and a 2.5-inch hard drive. The total capacity reaches 8 TB.
The portable computer runs on a Linux-based operating system. This can be either the Ubuntu 18.04 LTS platform or the proprietary Pop!_OS based on Ubuntu.
