The anniversary release of the free (GPL) system manager for GNU/Linux has brought us:
the end of support for System V scripts (as promised in the last release);
varlinkctl list-registry now displays all public interfaces from /run/varlink/registry/;
systemd-report and experimental support for the reporting system in /run/systemd/report/;
the ability to embed DeviceTree in /usr/lib/systemd/boot/hwids/ for easy access from UKI;
support for the [MobileNetwork] section in systemd-networkd, which describes integration with ModemManager;
systemd-vmspawn can now register virtual machines in the user (instead of system) instance systemd-machined;
systemd-ask-password can now be invoked by a regular user thanks to the addition of the corresponding PolKit policy;
