A year after the last major release, the mail client Thunderbird 68 has been released, based on the Firefox 68-ESR codebase.

Key Changes:

The main menu of the application is now presented as a unified panel with icons and separators. [pic];

The ability to assign colors in the message composition window and for tags has been added, without being limited to the standard palette. [pic];
The dark theme has been improved. [pic];
New options have been added for managing files attached to emails. [pic];
The 'FileLink' mode has been enhanced, allowing you to attach links to files that have already been uploaded. Now, when reattaching, the same link is used instead of re-uploading the file. Additionally, an account is no longer required to use the default FileLink service—WeTransfer.
Language packs can now be selected in the settings. For this, the option 'intl.multilingual.enabled' must be enabled (it may also be necessary to change the value of the option 'extensions.langpacks.signatures.required' to 'false').
