In the new version:
- The QtWebEngine browser engine has been updated to branch 5.14 (previously version 5.11 was provided), allowing the incorporation of new developments from the Chromium project in the Morph browser and web applications. Restrictions on copying only one line or one word have been lifted — the clipboard can now hold entire paragraphs and arbitrary text snippets.

- The configurator (System Settings) has reverted to an icon view in the main menu. This interface was originally proposed but replaced by Canonical with a two-column settings view shortly before their involvement in development ended. The two-column mode remains for large screens, but for smaller window sizes, a set of icons is now automatically displayed instead of a list.
- Work has been done to adapt components of Ubuntu Touch, such as the Lomiri (Unity8) shell and indicators, for use in postmarketOS and Alpine distributions, where the musl system library replaces GNU libc. The changes prepared have also improved the overall portability of the codebase, simplifying the transition to using Ubuntu 20.04 as the base for Ubuntu Touch in the future.
- The splash screens of all basic applications have been changed, now showing a harmonious indicator instead of a blank white screen at startup.
- The capabilities of the address book have been expanded, allowing you to save information about birthdays. The added data is automatically transferred to the calendar and appears in the new section 'Contact birthdays.' The interface for editing contacts has been redesigned, simplifying data entry in the new fields without shifting the on-screen keyboard. The option to delete an entry, initiate a call or send a message using gestures has been provided (swiping left displays icons for actions related to the entry).
The import capabilities for the contact list in Ubuntu Touch have been improved through the upload of VCF format files. Pressing the call button ('Call') from the address book, opened within the call interface, now directly executes the call without displaying an intermediate confirmation dialog. Issues with SMS and MMS message overflow, as well as audio recording and video message sending, have been resolved.
- Ubuntu Touch now operates smoothly in networks that use only IPv6.
- On the OnePlus One smartphone, correct detection of the initial state of the proximity sensor has been implemented, alongside enabling the screen when connecting or disconnecting power, and preventing the screen from turning off at the start of a call.
- Support has been added for putting Nexus 7 2013, Xperia X, and OnePlus One devices into sleep mode when closing a magnetic case and activating them when the case is opened.
- The number of devices, such as the Nexus 6P, supporting the flashlight button in the power management indicator has been expanded.
- The lomiri-ui-toolkit package has improved support for Qt interface themes and icon sets.
- The resumption of heavily loaded applications has been accelerated by launching the resumption process asynchronously, which does not block the Lomiri shell.
