Users of Ubuntu Unity are advised not to upgrade their systems to the 25.10 branch or attempt to install Unity packages over other editions of Ubuntu 25.10, as this may disrupt system functionality.
It is noted that the project now only has a forum and chat moderator without any technical skills, and the project leader, who was directly involved in development, has stepped back after enrolling in university. In 2022, the Ubuntu Unity distribution was granted official Ubuntu edition status. The founder and key developer of Ubuntu Unity was the Indian teenager Rudra Saraswat, who was 12 years old when the project was founded in 2021.
