Launches of versions 7.1 and 7.1.1 took place on November 22 and 30 fast cross-platform console text search utility ugrep, written in C++ and distributed under the BSD-3 license.
To improve search efficiency in large file systems on slow storage or when searching through multiple archives (zip, tar, etc.), you can first perform indexing using the ugrep-indexer utility (included with ugrep starting from version 6.0).
Change log:
- the addition of syntax highlighting for search templates and other enhancements TUI;
- support for the --filter option has been added (Windows);
- the functionality of additional scripts ug+ and ugrep+ has been ensured when auxiliary file converters (pdftotext, Poppler, antiword, pandoc, or exiftool) are unavailable;
- fixed the inversion of character classes when using the -i (or --ignore-case) option to match the behavior of GNU grep when using the -i and -P options;
- some warnings -Woverload-virtual and -Wshadow have been eliminated during the library build RE/flex, TUI, and the ugrep-indexer.
