On the Web the beta version of Microsoft Edge based on the Chromium engine. Currently, this is an early build that has not yet been made available on browser page, where Windows 10 users can choose from three different channels. There are Microsoft Edge Canary, Microsoft Edge Dev, and Microsoft Edge Beta.
However, these versions are currently not available for Windows 7 and 8.1; for now, builds are only intended for 'ten'. The Edge beta browser is somewhat similar to the Slow ring in the Windows Insider program. If selected, updates will come every 6 weeks. This is also the most stable build at the moment.

Previously, we note, an 'early' build for macOS, which is already available for download. The Linux version is not yet available, but it is expected the company will present it in time.
In addition, the updated Edge browser will be available for users of Windows 7 and 8, as well as mobile operating systems Android and iOS. Although in the latter cases, the version still uses the build based on the old rendering engine, and no release dates for the new version have been announced yet.
Thus, Microsoft aims to increase the popularity of its browser worldwide by leveraging Google's advancements, which have already become the standard for the web industry. More details about the advantages of the new browser from Redmond are shown in our separate .
