As is known, Microsoft plans to release an update for Windows 10 at the end of May this year. Currently, this build is being tested by 'Insiders' in the Release Preview channel and will soon be available on the release channel. Meanwhile, the developers have released an update for the Media Creation Tool, which, judging by the name, is supposed to download the new system. However, in practice, the tool downloads and creates an image of Windows 10 Build 17763.379 (version 1809) without taking into account the latest cumulative update.
Some media outlets have rushed to write about the availability of the new version of 'the ten,' but this is not the case. Insider Wzor confirmed this on Twitter — testing is still ongoing in closed mode.
It should be noted that the company took an additional month to avoid a repeat of last year's debacle when the 1809 update was released. The extra time was taken to improve the quality of the new release.
So far, the company has not officially released ISO images of the May 2019 update, and it is not available in the Windows Update Center. Therefore, we can only wait for the signal from Redmond when the update will finally start. It's important to note that the May update will focus not so much on new features (although there will be some) but on stability and bug fixes.
Among the expected features, we note the updated Game Bar, which includes social features, Spotify support, and more. The possibility is also expected to use flash drives without forced safe removal and a number of other capabilities.
