Microsoft has released a fresh update for Windows 10 Build 19541 as part of its Insider program. It is available through the Fast Ring and includes several minor enhancements that may or may not make it into the 2020 release.
However, the new features are intriguing. Firstly, there is a new option in Task Manager that will show users the architecture of each process. It is available on the 'Details' tab and will indicate whether the program belongs to the 32-bit or 64-bit category.
Secondly, there is a new icon on the taskbar that shows when an application requests the user's location. This is a development of security ideas that were previously implemented. In the past, Windows 10 introduced a microphone icon that alerts users when a program is 'listening' to them.
In addition to this, Windows 10 Build 19541 now includes instant replies and Bing timers in the revamped Cortana voice assistant. However, joke functions and other conversational features are still under development.
It is important to note that these features do not have a release date, as the company recently changed its early access scheme. They will appear when ready, which could take a while. Considering that Windows 10 20H1 is already , and 20H2 will focus on fixes, there is a chance that these innovations may remain exclusive to early access this year.
