Collabora has announced the implementation of Vulkan API 1.4 support in the PanVK Vulkan driver for ARM-based GPU devices using the V10 architecture, such as Mali-G610 and Mali-G310. The changes have been included in the Mesa codebase and will be made available to users in the Mesa 25.2 release, which is currently in candidate status. The current stable release, Mesa 25.1, only supports Vulkan version 1.2 in PanVK.
Plans for further development of the PanVK driver include certification of Vulkan 1.4 support with the Khronos consortium, optimizations for DDK performance during typical tasks, improvements in compatibility with existing applications, and the implementation of support for additional Vulkan extensions. There is also a specific intent to enhance performance for older generations of Mali GPUs, such as Bifrost (V6 and V7), and to ensure Vulkan support for the early generations of the Valhall GPU family (V9).
