Changes have been added to the OpenBSD-current codebase, which will be the basis for the release of OpenBSD 7.9 this spring, to support operation as a guest system in virtualization systems based on Apple Hypervisor. OpenBSD builds for the arm64 architecture can be used in virtual machines on macOS running on hardware with Apple Silicon ARM chips. The changes involve ensuring synchronization of framebuffer content transfer to the host system in the virtio driver viogpu, as well as adding the capability for the virtual network interface if_vio to receive MTU information from the hypervisor.
