The developers of the Thunderbird email client have published a development plan for the next three years. During this time, the project aims to achieve three main goals:
- Redesigning the user interface from scratch to create a system suitable for different categories of users (both beginners and veterans), easily customizable to personal preferences and with a cohesive design.
- Increasing the reliability and compactness of the codebase, rewriting outdated code, and eliminating accumulated issues (removing technical debt).
- Transitioning to monthly releases of new updates.
