An update numbered 1.6.1 has been released for the Telegram messenger, adding a number of anticipated features. In particular, this includes the ability to delete any message in a conversation. Moreover, the message will be removed from both users in a private chat.
Previously, this feature was available only within the first 48 hours. You can now delete not only your own messages but also those of your conversation partner. There is also an option to restrict the forwarding of messages to other users. This means that what you write can be blocked so that this information cannot be forwarded to anyone else. Additionally, when enabling the anonymous forwarding feature, the forwarded messages will not be linked to the sender's account.
The messenger has also added a settings search function, allowing users to quickly find specific menu items. On mobile platforms, the search for GIF animations and stickers has been updated. Now, any animated clip can be viewed by pressing and holding the image. Android users can search for emojis by keywords. The system automatically suggests emoji options based on the context of the messages. This feature will be available on iOS soon.
Finally, Telegram has received support for VoiceOver on iOS and TalkBack on Android. This allows you to use the messenger without looking at the smartphone or tablet screen. Furthermore, the developers stated that Telegram ensures end-to-end encryption and allows the transmission of media files up to 1.5 GB.
