Microsoft states that users will have a new section in the Windows Update Center to manage optional updates without the need for third-party software or device managers. According to Microsoft, the Windows Update Center already keeps drivers up to date automatically, but the 'Additional Updates' option will provide greater control over the installation of specific drivers. 'We are still working to make it easier for you to see all additional updates (including drivers, feature updates, and monthly updates that are not security-related) in one place,' the company said.
It is still unclear whether Microsoft plans to roll out the 'Additional Updates' feature in Windows 10 20H1 (version 2004), but it would make sense. Windows 10 20H1 promises a new set of functional improvements for gamers, consumers, and businesses in spring 2020, including enhancements to Task Manager, Cortana, cloud recovery, new icons, and more.
