Rare studio unveiled the debut trailer for the Tall Tales - Shores of Gold expansion for . Its main feature is the first chapter of a complete story campaign. Users will embark on a journey to a mysterious island and attempt to uncover all its secrets.
The video showcases the characters involved in the story, as well as the process of exploring the island. A voiceover narrates that this land lies beyond the known world. It holds the secret of immense power and wealth. The island is inhabited by skeleton pirates who have established their own community here. The trailer demonstrates interaction with ruins using special items, artifact hunting, and navigation by constellations. It seems all of this will become gameplay elements in the Tall Tales story campaign.
Along with the upcoming expansion, Sea of Thieves will introduce a new trading campaign and competitive arena. It will be released on April 30 for PC and Xbox One. The game itself launched on March 20, 2018. The project faced criticism for its lack of content, but Rare has gradually filled Sea of Thieves with various activities.
