In its blog announcement, they declared that starting May 13, 2024, local hypervisors Workstation Pro and Fusion Pro will be free for personal use, while a paid subscription will be required for commercial use. The products Workstation Player and Fusion Player will no longer be available as separate applications; however, they will still be included with their Pro versions.

Upgrade to Pro with a personal use license

Workstation Player users for Linux and Windows need to download the Pro version again, which will be licensed for personal use by default. Access to downloads requires an account at support.broadcom.com.

Fusion Player users can simply upgrade to Fusion 13.5.2 and remove the license key.

Clients with commercial licenses

Fusion Player 13 and Workstation Player 17 clients with commercial licenses will continue to see functionality from their products, and no new license keys are required for continued use of these versions. After the active support period ends, clients will be asked to upgrade to the Pro version of these products for ongoing support and updates.
