The release of the "Alt Server Virtualization" operating system 10.1 on ALT platform 10 (p10 Aronia branch) has occurred. This operating system is intended for use on servers and for implementing virtualization functions within corporate infrastructure. A service is available for working with Docker images. Builds have been prepared for x86_64, AArch64, and ppc64le architectures. The product is supplied under a License Agreement that allows free use by individuals, but legal entities are permitted only to test it; for use, a commercial license must be purchased or a written license agreement must be concluded.
New features:
- The system environment is built on the Linux kernel 5.10 and systemd 249.13.
- The installer includes the kernel-modules-drm package, providing higher performance for graphics hardware (relevant for AArch64 platforms).
- The GRUB (grub-pc) bootloader is used instead of syslinux in the image for Legacy BIOS.
- Support for NUMA memory optimization (numactl) has been added when using the basic virtualization scenario based on kvm+libvirt+qemu.
- Improved multipath support for creating network storage (multipathd is included in the installer by default).
- In the Network Settings, etcnet is used by default, which allows manual network configuration. Administrator (root) privileges are required to work with configuration files.
- Using CRI-O instead of Docker in Kubernetes.
- In the virtualization management system PVE 7.2 (Proxmox Virtual Environment), support for new services and settings has been added, synchronization with Debian 11.3 package base has been performed, Linux kernel 5.15 is utilized, and QEMU 6.2, LXC 4.0, Ceph 16.2.7, and OpenZFS 2.1.4 have been updated.
- The limit on the number of virtual processors (vCPUs) for hypervisor hosts has been increased, allowing for more powerful hardware deployment for virtualization management systems.

- Official container images in the container registry have been updated, and images on hub.docker.com and images.linuxcontainers.org have also been refreshed.
