🥇D7VK 1.3 release, implementation of Direct3D 5, 6, and 7 over the Vulkan API

The release of the D7VK project 1.3 has been published, which enhances the implementation of graphic APIs Direct3D 5, 6, and 7 proposed by Microsoft in 1997, 1998, and 1999. D7VK operates by translating calls to the Vulkan API and allows retro games based on Direct3D 5, 6, and 7 to run on Linux using Wine. The project code is written in C++ and is distributed under the Zlib license. The development was based on the d3d9 backend code from the DXVK project — D7VK transforms Direct3D 5, 6, and 7 API calls into Direct3D 9 calls, which are then translated into Vulkan API. The developer does not intend to integrate D7VK into DXVK, as was done with the implementations of Direct3D 8 and Direct3D 9 over Vulkan.

The new release provides official support for the Direct3D 5 graphic API in addition to the previously available support for Direct3D 6 and 7. Work has also been done to fix bugs and improve compatibility with games that require support for Direct3D 6 and 7. By default, the emulation of the FSAA (Full-Scene Anti-Aliasing) smoothing mechanism is disabled, which is now only activated for games that support this technology.
