The release of TrueNAS CORE 13.0-U5 has been introduced, a distribution for the rapid deployment of network storage (NAS, Network-Attached Storage), continuing the development of the FreeNAS project. TrueNAS CORE 13 is based on the FreeBSD 13 codebase, featuring integrated ZFS support and the ability to manage via a web interface built using the Python framework Django. Access to the storage is supported through FTP, NFS, Samba, AFP, rsync, and iSCSI, with software RAID (0,1,5) available to enhance storage reliability, and client authentication support for LDAP/Active Directory. The size of the ISO image is 1 GB (x86_64). Concurrently, the TrueNAS SCALE distribution, which uses Linux instead of FreeBSD, is being developed.
