Blue Systems, the company funding the development of KWin and Kubuntu, has released the Netrunner 25 distribution, which features the KDE 5 desktop. Unlike Kubuntu, the Netrunner distribution employs a different approach to user interface organization and seamless integration of Wine and GTK applications within the KDE environment. The size of the bootable ISO image is 2.5 GB (x86_64). The new release is synchronized with the Debian 12 package base. Updated package versions include Linux kernel 6.1.0, KDE Plasma 5.27.5, Qt 5.15.2, Firefox 128.6.0 ESR, LibreOffice 7.4.7.2, and VLC 3.0.21.
