The release of Live Distribution NomadBSD 141R-20240711 has been announced, which is a version of FreeBSD adapted for use as a portable desktop bootable from a USB drive. The graphical environment is based on Xfce. DSBMD is used for mounting drives (supports file systems ISO-9660, FAT, NTFS, UFS, Ext2/3, Ext4, HFS+, exFAT, XFS, and Btrfs). The size of the boot image is 2.5 GB (i386, amd64).
In the new release, the base environment has been updated to FreeBSD 14.1. The fusefs module has been modified to reduce errors when using unionfs. NomadBSD-specific graphical utilities have been migrated from Qt5 to Qt6.
