The release of OpenWrt 24.10.5 has taken place, developed for network devices such as routers, switches, and access points. OpenWrt supports 2849 devices and offers a build system that simplifies cross-compilation and the creation of custom builds. Such builds allow the creation of ready-made firmware with the desired set of pre-installed packages, optimized for specific tasks. Ready-made builds have been published for 39 target platforms.
Key changes in OpenWrt 24.10.5:
- Support for devices such as ASUS TUF-AX4200Q, Cudy WR3000P v1, ipTIME AX7800M-6E, Konka KOMI A31, Totolink X6000R, and WAVLINK WL-WN536AX6 has been added to the mediatek platform.
- The ramips platform has improved support for SD cards and eMMC storage, with added support for devices Cudy AP1300 Outdoor v1, Cudy C200P, Cudy R700, Cudy RE1200 Outdoor v1, and Hongdian H8850 v20.
- Support for devices LinkEase EasePi R1 and Lunzn FastRhino R66S has been added to the rockchip platform.

- A vulnerability in the Dropbear SSH server that allowed a local user to elevate their privileges within the system has been addressed. Options for port forwarding have been enabled.
- The kernel package has been updated to version 6.6.119 (previously 6.6.110).
- The state of the mac80211 subsystem has been synchronized with kernel 6.12.61.
- The mt76 packages have been updated to 2025-11-06 and wireless-regdb to 2025.10.07.
