A release of the specialized distribution Tails 5.19 (The Amnesic Incognito Live System), based on a Debian package base and designed for anonymous internet access, has been formed. Anonymous access in Tails is provided by the Tor system. All connections, except for traffic through the Tor network, are blocked by default by a packet filter. User data storage with persistence is encrypted between sessions. An ISO image has been prepared for download, capable of operating in Live mode, with a size of 1 GB.
The new version adds the ability to close a selected Tor circuit in the Onion Circuits interface, for example, to replace a slow traffic path or to diagnose issues that have arisen.
Tor Browser has been updated to version 13.0.1, synchronized with the Firefox 115.4.0 ESR codebase, which fixed 19 vulnerabilities (13 considered critical). The versions of Tor tools 0.4.8.7, email client Thunderbird 115.4.1, and Linux kernel 6.1.55 have been updated. At the request of users of the SecureDrop service, which allows anonymous document sharing with publications and journalists, the sq-keyring-linter package has been included to enhance the cryptographic parameters of PGP keys stored on isolated systems.
