The release of the specialized distribution Tails 5.5 (The Amnesic Incognito Live System), based on the Debian package base and designed for anonymous web access, has been finalized. Anonymous access in Tails is provided by the Tor network. All connections, except for traffic through the Tor network, are by default blocked by a packet filter. User data is encrypted to allow for persistence between sessions. An ISO image capable of running in live mode has been prepared, with a size of 1 GB.
The new version utilizes the Linux kernel 5.10.140, improving support for new graphics cards and wireless devices. The Tor Browser has been updated to version 11.5.4, which includes vulnerability fixes that have been backported from Firefox ESR 102.3. The wget utility now supports using different Tor circuits with each invocation. The Thunderbird email client has been updated to branch 102.
