The release of the specialized distribution Tails 6.10 (The Amnesic Incognito Live System) has been announced, developed as part of the Tor project. The distribution is based on Debian 12, comes with the GNOME 43 desktop, and is designed for anonymous internet access through the Tor toolbox. All connections, except for traffic over the Tor network, are blocked by the packet filter by default. User data is stored with encryption in data persistence mode between sessions. An ISO image has been prepared, capable of running in Live mode, with a size of 1 GB.
The new version updates Tor Browser to 14.0.3 and the email client Thunderbird to 128.4.3 (previously using the 115.x branch). In Thunderbird, telemetry data saving has been disabled. The Electrum bitcoin wallet now supports hardware wallets from Trezor. Issues with the desktop startup on systems with limited RAM have been resolved.
